Independent Grocer Network

For independent grocers and the wholesalers that serve them

If you've recently remodeled or opened a store, we'd love to hear about it -- where, when, and how the store fits with your overall mission and strategy. (In fact, I added a new group just for the purpose -- New Stores/Redesigned Stores).

Of course, we'd also like to see how it looks. So if you have a store you'd like to share with us, post the pictures in a photo album, then tell us about it in the comment box (See image below).

Upgrading the store business signage probably won't be considered as remodeling but seeing from the groups, looks like you've really done a great job overhauling a store to entice more customers.

Also, since it's holidays we probably won't see any pumpkins on store windows today. In New York, Christmas themed store windows are a real deal.

We just installed a brand new state of the art 24ft. Hill Phoenix European style deli case, which was completed on November 15th 2010.  Since then our sales are up 30% and we plan on doubling sales by 2012.  Every energy saving feature is put into this case from LED lighting to a new Scroll rapid start  compressor unit.  In November of 2009, we installed a brand new Hill-phoenix triple deck meat case, with 3 sections joined together.  It is run by 3 brand new compressors, which prevent total  breakdown, and have every energy saving option made, including LED lighting.

I am very happy with the install, and in the first year of the new meat case install, sales are up 23%.

The deli install already has shown a 30% increase in the first 45 days.
